David Laman, Ph.D.
Dr. David Laman is Founder and Director of Developmental Enhancement, PLC. He has specialized in neurodevelopmental conditions and related mental health issues for 20 years. As Director, Dr. Laman is responsible for developing and overseeing specialized, state-of-the-art services to meet the needs of individuals and families affected by neurodevelopmental conditions throughout West Michigan.
As a psychologist, he also provides assessment and treatment for children, adults, older adults and families. Particular areas of specialization and interest for Dr. Laman include the early identification of developmental issues and providing services to optimize development and prevent mental health/behavioral problems. He frequently provides consultation and training in mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders on a regional and national basis, as well as conducting research on this topic.
Dr. Laman is a leader in the national movement to promote mental wellness for individuals and families affected by neurodevelopmental disabilities. He serves on the Board of Directors of the NADD (formerly the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed) and was formerly associated with the National Center for Persons with Mental Retardation/Mental Illness, the Institute for the Study of Developmental Disabilities, the Center for Developmental Disabilities, and the Institute for Neurodevelopmental Differences.
